Doja Clears Up Tension with Nicki Minaj’s Fan Base

Fans stir up unnecessary tension on social media, per usual! The Barbz, Nicki Minaj’s fan base, and probably some of most ruthless fans, misinterpreted Doja Cat on Twitter. The Barbz felt that Doja was coming for their queen sideways and decided to take disciplinary action! Doja explained how the Twitter miscommunication was twisted enough to make it look like she hated Nicki’s fans, during a Facetime interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.
She explained how she was simply trying to defend a man who posted his opinion about fan art that included Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, and Meg Thee Stallion, in that order. He simply posted, “I’d like to see Doja in the middle.” Doja tells Lowe, “And then someone commented back to him, ‘Gosh, men. Men these days, they’re so messy. They just want problems all the time.’ And I saw that comment and I was like, ‘God, you have to bring like someone’s gender into stuff and that’s what makes you look stupid.'” Even though both Doja Cat and the man who commented both love Nicki Minaj, the Barbz still trolled them online.
Doja then felt the need to reinsert herself into the conversation after all of the scrutiny towards this man, saying, “So then I come in and I say, ‘Dude, stop responding to these people. They’re scum. They’re so awful. Stop talking to them. They have nothing good to say to you or anybody else.” The Barbs took this as Doja Cat hating the entire fan base, but she clarified by saying she is, ‘the biggest Nicki Minaj fan.’ She ends with, “So they’re stupid. They don’t even know me. So they’re saying things that they have no idea what they’re talking about.” The hashtag, ‘#dojacatisoverparty started trending because of it, but luckily, many of her fans supported her for speaking up!
You tell ’em, Doja!
