Creating Impact: How Independent Artist Nochildhood Uses Music to Find His Footing in the Independent Rap World
Rnb/Hip-Hop artist Nochildhood is up and coming in the independent rap world with a unique sound and lyrics that detail what it has been like for him growing up without a father figure, feeling abandoned, to finally come together finding himself through his music. He describes his music as “pain but motivation music”, his music serves as his outlet to communicate his emotions and experiences. The name “Nochildhood” originates from his isolation from a patriarchal figure in his life, looking to his mother and his twin brother as his only family. Eventually, Nochildhood ended up spending a majority of his teen years in Juvenile Institution; this started his transition to focusing on rapping: “I realized I had to figure out what I want to do with myself and I knew music was my way out. I had nobody to talk about my pain to so i started putting it in my music.” So far, Nochildhood has gained nearly 2,000 monthly listeners on Spotify with his highest streaming song Heartless amassing over 10,000 streams. As his career continues, Nochildhood hopes to become a music legend and positively impact the youth by encouraging them to not give up pursuing the things they are passionate about. Nochildhood has an intense drive to eventually become one of the greats in the rap industry such as the artists he looks up to: Toosii, Kur, and Tupac. Be on the lookout for his new EP
