Reina is Bringing the Heat with New Single “At Midnight”
Reina is a Los Angeles native who is heating things up with her newest single “At Midnight.” Reina has been working on this song for eight months and is eager to share the hard effort that went into producing this thoughtful gem of a record. Reina is poised to take the industry by storm with her unquestionable skill, which includes an organic, soulful R&B sound and an exquisite voice to match.
In a recent interview with Remixd Magazine, the singer said of her new track, “I immediately envisioned the vibe I wanted for this and it was inspired by the idea of a hard working woman who was in love but had the power and discipline to be about her business and not get distracted.”
“I had looked at Beyonce’s touring schedule for ‘The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour’ and saw that she toured for a full year straight,” she continued. “Seeing this I thought, ‘Wow, I want to have a world tour like that one day,’ and began to envision what life would be like touring non stop while also being in love with someone.”
“At Midnight” grasps the realities that are the difficulties of pursuing a profession and having to pick between love and work.
Reina’s background influenced her inherent commitment to music and helped her define her voice. She followed in the footsteps of her grandpa, Earth Wind and Fire’s renowned Verdine White, and her grandmother, Shelly Clark White, who sang with the group The Honey Cone. Reina’s father, Warner Wright, had her recording and songwriting during studio sessions when she began singing professionally at the age of fifteen. Reina grew up in a family of renowned musicians, and she decided to pursue her natural ability for making music that inspires people.
“One reason I am passionate about music is the fact that it gives me an opportunity to serve others,” Reina said. “I have a passion for service and I know that through my art I can do so. I am inspired everyday by people who not only do their artistry or work well but also dedicate their work for others.”
The young songstress has a long list of achievements under her belt. Nipsey Hussle, Yella Beezy, her grandpa Verdine White, producer My Guy Mars, and others were among the artists she’s collaborated with. Reina’s track “Head to the Sky,” which features Nipsey Hussle and Verdine White and was produced by MyGuyMars and Brody Brown, won a Hollywood Music and Media Award for Best Message Song/Social Impact. Reina intends to apply what she’s learned from these artists to further her career, taking up information like a sponge.
“Nipsey Hussle was the first person I had ever collaborated with and I am forever blessed and honored for my experience with him,” she said. “We created our song and it was projected to be my first single. Soon after creating our song he passed away. After he passed away my team and I decided to hold on to the song we created and work on it.”
The musician exudes a graceful degree of sincerity and confidence as she delivers her new track “At Midnight,” which listeners will definitely love. Reina realized at a young age that her success hinged on her ability to be proactive and dedicated.
