Meet Hafto from Dallas

Written By: Alex Simani
Hafto was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He describes himself as a bit mysterious and finds inspiration in artists like Kendrick, The Weekend, Lil Wayne and Eminem. In the future, he hopes to “redefine art in his community” and give the important people in his life something to be proud of as he expresses his soul through his music.
When asked who is his biggest motivation, Hafto responded “My biggest motivation is expression and proving people wrong. I want to help redefine art in my community. There is a lot of people in my personal life that I look at but, ultimately I want my parents to be proud.”
In the last 2-3 years he has released 9 tracks ranging from Classical to Hip-Hop / R&B. In the near future you can expect to listen to a spoken word piece on the topic of love. His latest project “Love, A Drug” is a project that was therapeutic for Hafto as he exposes himself in a vulnerable way. Being in the industry for a while now he recognizes that the industry can be cut throat and there has been obstacles that he has overcome on his current path but still remains optimistic. One quote he lives by is “Improvise, Adapt and Overcome.”
