Drake Makes Historic Debut at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Drake did it again! On Monday, April 13th, Billboard announced that Drake’s latest single “Toosie Slide” is officially No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, making him the first male artist (and second act overall) to have debuted three songs at No. 1 on the Hot 100 (“God’s Plan”, “Nice for What” and “Toosie Slide”). He matched Mariah Carey, who earned three No. 1 debuts on the Hot 100 between 1995-97. Although three of Drake’s records debuted at the top spot, the rapper is on his seventh Hot 100 No. 1 record, thanks to “Toosie Slide”.

This hot new record also debuted at No. 3 on the Digital Song Sales chart. According to Nielsen Music/MRC Datra, “Toosie Slide”, which was released on April 3rd, quickly climbed up the chart, with 55.5 millions U.S. streams in the week ending April 9th.

Congratulations Drake!
