DJ Jazzy Jeff Set to Host “Break the Monotony” Block Party to Celebrate Release of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” Collection

DRUMS, PLEASE! One of The Fresh Prince’s and DJ Jazzy Jeff’s biggest hits, “Summertime,” inspired a new collection to celebrate the iconic show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, as it hit its 30th anniversary this year! On May 9th, the 10-plus limited collection will be released on the Fresh Prince online store. The “Fresh Prince/Summertime” collection will not only focus on Will Smith’s role in the show, but on the 1992 Grammy Award winning rap song, “Summertime,” as well.
Now this is a story all about how Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince helped the kids out! A percentage of the profits produced this May 9th will go to No Kid Hungry. This organization plans to help feed the millions of children who are now without the healthy meals they depended on from schools, due to Covid-19. DJ Jazzy Jeff also recently recovered from Covid-19 himself, where he speaks about his symptoms with fellow friend, Will Smith, on Instagram.
The collection drop will also be teamed up with the “Break the Monotony Block Party,” which will also be held on Instagram Live, May 9th. DJ Jazzy Jeff will be hosting the event starting at noon and lasting until midnight, but there will also be other guest DJs such as DJ Clark Kent, DJ D-Nice, and Craze. DJ Jazzy Jeff said in a statement, “Between this new collection and the block party, I hope we can come together during these trying times, celebrate culture, put smiles on people’s faces and raise money for an important cause.”
Who’s ready to cop some of this collection?
